New Forest Neighbourhood Watch

NH watchThe Community Safety Partnership is committed to developing better communications and partnership working with Neighbourhood Watch to make this a dynamic and real time prevention tool as well as letting you know what is going on in your neighbourhood.

The Partnership is currently going through a review of how Neighbourhood Watch works in this area and a working group will shortly be presenting a report of findings to help the Partnership decide what investment (and possibly changes) need to be made to the work of the Partnership in order to support Neighbourhood Watch better.  For further information on this work and to discuss any views or ideas you may have please contact stephanie.bell@nfdc.gov.uk who is leading the review.

It is hoped that an improved way of working will enable you to register your schemes more easily with the local police teams ; and also improve how the Partnership can communicate with schemes.

Tackling crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour these days is not just undertaken by the police and many agencies often work together to tackle problems.  With improved communication systems in place with schemes, and improved media assistance, we anticipate that this will increase the confidence that communities have in the ability of Neighbourhood Watch to make a difference, and thus support it's work.  We will ask the local papers, radio and members of council and Partnerships to let everyone know when we have these communications systems in place. Until that time please contact your local Safer Neighbourhoods Team to let them know where your scheme is and how to get in contact with you or for advice and help in starting up a new scheme.
